When We Are Closed
When a surgery is closed during the day, your call will be automatically transferred to the other site without the need to re-dial. This will enable you to talk to a memeber of our staff.
During the evenings, at weekends and Bank Holidays a doctor is always available for genuinely urgent medical problems.
Please call NHS 111(This is a low call charge rate number)
If you do call the Alderton and Orford Surgeries when closed your call will transfer directly to the Harmoni Out of Hours service if you continue to hold. Please do not call at night or weekends unless it is really necessary.
If you contact NHS 111 you may be given telephone advice, or offered a consultation at the primary care centre or if genuinely unable to travel a visit at home.
NHS 111
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS111 to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
If the matter is life threatening, for example, possible heart attack, severe difficulty breathing or a serious accident, dial 999 and request an ambulance.
